Staff Notes: Dúo Vocal con Guitarras. Underlined Side. This corrido is about going to the to United States. It starts out stating that there is a lot of money to be made in the States and that you can sweep it up with a broom. It goes on to tell about going to the border and trading mexican currency to dollars, they gave 3 pesos to 1 dollar. At this point, the border patrol made him take a shower or they would not let him cross. The second part of this corrido tells about how the Mexicans have the worst jobs in order to make a living and that in order to make a decent living you have to betray your flag and become a naturalized citizen. It goes on to complain and critique the Philipinos and how they buy and sell “Gueras” alluding that they are pimps.
