During the Mexican Revolution of 1910, day after day, those in battle found the corrido to be a vehicle of expression. Troops at the time wrote songs about their battlefield experiences in cities like Celaya, Zacatecas, and Matamoros. The Frontera Collection features corridos about many important battles of the revolution as well as corridos on revolutionary figures like Emiliano Zapata and Porfirio Diaz.
