This cut is not slated, as this is a prepared / edited Reel. Handwritten date on the back of the actual Tape Box reads “8-28-69”. This corrido is about the killing of 2 brothers and their 1st cousin in 1911, at the hands of a “coward”. The incident occurred on April 30th at around 3pm, which is when Mariano Pérez was killed. Benito De Luna was the instigator of the conflict, as well as the first one to flee when the shooting began. The body of Isidro Pérez fell to the North, Gabino Pérez to the South, while Mariano’s body had fallen across the “oriente”, and with their bodies, made the shape of a cross.
