This tragic song is about a father professing his love to his daughter Delgadina. Delgadina refuses her fathers love and the father punishes Delgadina by imprisoning her. Delgadina pleads for a glass of water because she is dying of thirst. When the servants finally took her some water Delgadina was already dead.
