The friend expresses interest in the bootleggers business until he finds out that the bottlegged product is alcohol. The friends offers to buy a bottle from him only to save him from getting caught. The wife of the friend enters and the bootlegger takes back the bottle and tells the friend that he only sells to single men and widowers because married men are too much trouble. The friend tells the bootlegger to wait for him a couple a minutes and at this point the friend leaves with his wife and comes back a widower. It turns out he killed his wife so he can buy a bottle from the bootlegger.
