Rogelio Rossell: Talented Musician
by Agustin Gurza, 01/05/2022 - 18:46Hi Ray. I totally agree. The performance on this corrido – by Alfredo y Rogelio y Los 5 Arrieros – is top-notch norteño music. Classic two-part harmonies by Rogelio and his partner, and outstanding work by the musicians, especially the accordion.
What did you play in the band? Do you have any other information about the group and their recordings. In a message posted below, Rogelio's daughter Rosalinda was asking for more information.
Thanks for writing.

Rogelio Rossel
by Ray (not verified), 09/19/2021 - 18:40Rogelio was a very talented musician. I played the bass in his band when he lived in Corcoran, CA. I found another recording of Rogelio on this website – Los Marinos De Rogelio Rossel
Response to Rogelio
by Agustin Gurza, 08/26/2021 - 18:50Rosalinda:
I regret that we only have the one 45-rpm single by Alfredo y Rogelio, released on the small RV Records label from Santa Maria, California. Is that the area your father is from? The flip side is the song "El Denucio," which I think is a label typo and should read "El Denuncio." You can hear that song by clicking on the title here, or in the box on the right with the heading: Other Recordings by Alfredo Y Rogelio.
If there is anything you can tell us about your father and his music, please let us know. We might be able to post a short bio on his page.
Please accept our condolences. Thanks for contacting us about your father's recordings. Your input can help us document some of the missing background of folk and country artists from our communities.
Sincerely,
Agustín Gurza, Editor, The Frontera Collection

Thank you for posting. My dad passed away in December 2000, and I would love to hear all the songs he has.
