Photos of Mexican Lovers
by Agustin Gurza, 07/23/2021 - 18:13Dear Alphonso:
We'd be very pleased to receive the photos of the band, which I can submit for posting on our website. If you have a short biography of Mexican Lovers, please send that long also. Send them to my email - agurza@ucla.edu
I notice that the band was based in San Jose, where I grew up. Thanks for getting in touch with us and offering the information.
Regards,
Agustín Gurza, Editor, The Frontera Collection
Additional History on Mexican Lovers
by Alphonso Iniguez (not verified), 03/20/2021 - 03:08Hello,
My name is Alphonso Iniguez Jr and my father is Alfonso Iniguez Sr, who played keyboard with the Mexican Lovers. He performed and recorded with the band throughout its existence. I have two photos of the band that I thought you might be interested in posting in the images section of the "Pero Que Tristeza" page and the corresponding "Estando Lejos" page.
One photo is of a flyer for a 1975 New Year's dance in San Jose. It includes a photo of the band. The second photo is of the band posing in their suits. They are awesome photos capturing a moment in time.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Alphonso
