Tu Primero - Tony Quintanar Y Sus Luces Del Puerto

Benjamin: We are not a commercial venture so I can't tell you about the specific market value of a recording in our collection. This does seem to be a rare record, however. I found only one album for sale on eBay, at this link. And I could not find an y listing on Discogs. 

I love this polka, though. We have four singles, eight tracks, by the group in the Frontera database. They are all on Anahuac Records, which was a local label based in Hollywood. They were active in the 1970s and 80s and their major claim to fame was their featured artist Anacani, a female vocalist who performed on the Lawrence Welk TV show. 

The label must have access to decent recording studios because the sound on Quintanar's singles is pretty good, compared to the sound on some other local label releases. Quintanar is using a fairly large instrumental ensemble here, with horns, and each instrument comes through fairly distinctly, and with a good mix.
